Tool monitoring for warehouse managers
Stop wasting time looking for tools
Tool tracking means that, as a warehouse operator, you always have an overview of the latest position of your tools. Where they are, who's using them and for which jobs. With HeronTrack, you save 25% of your time thanks to better equipment tracking. So you can do more pleasant things than calling your colleagues to ask for tools back.
Overview of external and internal inspections
When it comes to inspections, there are obligations to be met, such as for lifting equipment and fall protection. Managing these obligations can often be administratively intensive. With HeronTrack, this task is alleviated, as the application is integrated with external inspection bodies and, thanks to clear lists, tracking is automatic. Your colleagues have access to inspection reports, and when they are verified, they can always be confirmed on the spot using the mobile app.
Repairs and reservations in a calendar
The app allows tools to be reserved: the worker sees which tools are available and can request that they be made available. Repairs can also be requested via the app, with a description and photos, so that the manager can estimate what needs to be done. In this way, you also have access to the repair history of a specific tool, and can decide whether it's still worth repairing or taking it out of circulation.
Inventory just a click away
With HeronTrack, you can always carry out a check on the equipment assigned to a vehicle or person to verify that all tools are still physically present. No more annual physical counts that have to be carried out during the vacations. What's more, colleagues themselves can also check that they haven't forgotten anything on a site or at another colleague's premises.

HeronTrack helps us manage our equipment. It's now easy to know where equipment is located, and the movement of equipment is completely transparent. No need for manual inventory. HeronTrack is based on Microsoft Azure, with efficient Web services. A solution that adapted quickly and easily to our IS.
How do I install the HeronTrack sensor on my tools?
The HeronTrack sensor is mounted inside the tool or, for sensors with a high IP value, on the outside using silicone adhesive, screws or colson tape. Our project managers provide advice via videos for the various tools and sensors. But the most important thing is that this is a completely free service, and you install the sensors at your own pace.
What type of sensor does HeronTrack use?
The HeronTrack solution comprises two types of sensor: a BLE sensor that communicates with the mobile application, the vehicles and the kiosk in the warehouse, and the BLE/Sigfox sensor that enables it to send its own position 4 times a day. The latter sensor also features an anti-theft function that enables it to activate anti-theft mode when a suspicious movement is detected by the system. The sensor then becomes a tracker, sending a GPS position every 10 minutes. Once the tool has been recovered, GPS can be deactivated to save battery power.
How can I track my equipment on a daily basis with HeronTrack?
Whenever the sensor is near a smartphone, vehicle or warehouse, its position is updated. Thanks to a map, you can see which tools are where, on which jobsite and who's using them.
How does HeronTrack help you manage your equipment?
In addition to tool location, HeronTrack allows you to track and plan your internal and external inspections. HeronTrack integrates reports from all external inspection bodies and provides forms that can be used for internal inspections such as power tools, ladders and others. In addition, tool reservations and repairs can also be managed via the mobile and web application.
Are there different access rights in HeronTrack?
There are two groups of users: those who only have access to the mobile application, such as workers and drivers, and those who have access to both the mobile application and the web application, such as IT specialists, warehouse managers, project managers, and so on.
Does HeronTrack prevent tool theft?
We have a tracer specially designed to find stolen machines. It contains a GPS module that can be activated remotely if the tool is stolen. The rest of the time, only the BLE module is active to save battery power. But even the other sensors help prevent theft. The number-one reason for internal theft is lack of inventory, and with HeronTrack, you automatically take stock of your tools. What's more, you always know who last used a tool.
Can I easily check and inventory the tools of a particular person or vehicle?
The HeronTrack platform provides several useful reports. The "Tools - Inventory by owner" report enables you to retrieve a list of all the tools belonging to a particular person or vehicle, and to find out whether all these tools are actually in the vehicle.
How do I manage my sensor batteries?
The HeronTrack platform shows you the battery status of all your sensors, and alerts you when a sensor's battery is low. You can also easily obtain an overview of all the batteries to be replaced for tools currently in the depot. Batteries for the smallest sensors, which last just over a year, are replaced as standard during the annual visual inspection of your tools. So there's no need to micro-manage them.
